Red Funnel came to us asking for a mobile phone friendly website and the development of an iPhone application to keep their clients up to date with ferry crossing times.
Client Brief:
Red Funnel would like to develop and iPhone application to allow frequent customers to access up-to-date information about their ferry services. The application is to be downloadable by iPhone users and will allow access to the following information:
- Time Table
- Service Information
- News and Events
- Boats
This application will allow users to be able to view information quickly and with ease, providing them with more interaction with the company and will encourage more use of Red Funnel for transport to and from the island.
The solution:
The application we created displays the service status (green, amber or red) for Red Funnel ferries operating between Southampton and the Isle of Wight in the UK. Detailed information is provided if there are delays or cancellations, for both the Red Jet hi-speed passenger ferry service to West Cowes, and the Red Funnel vehicle/passenger ferry service to East Cowes. This web app uses publicly available information only. The application is available on the Apple App Store.
