We have come a long way from our humble beginnings. The company has grown from 2 people operating from a tiny office to be one of the leading digital agencies in the South. We now employ some of the most talented people around (in a much bigger office) and work for some of the biggest companies in the world.

The past ten years has been an incredible journey and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our valued customers who have played a crucial part in our success and we look forward to continuing the journey together.

Back in 2001 we were all using dial up modems to access the internet, mobile phones were starting to become more popular and were the size of bricks, IE6 and Netscape Navigator were the browsers of choice and no one had heard of social networks or Facebook – we were a lot less connected. How things have changed! Now we all use broadband to surf the web, we have a much wider choice of browsers and our phones allow us to do everything and anything, view web content and interact on social networks. The web has become a far richer and user friendly experience.

We have always had one eye on the latest innovations and trends and we’re very excited about the developments we will see over the next 10 years. The possibilities of what we can achieve with digital is changing everyday and we aim to continue to deliver the best solutions to the highest standards, the same as we always have.

Internet explorer 6 has been the bain of the lives of many a web developer for many years now. When it was released in 2001 it was at the forefront of technology at the time. That time however, was over 10 years ago. An awful lot has happened in those 10 years, the internet is a different place and technology has moved on and IE6 has been left behind. There are now 3 newer versions of IE and IE10 is now in beta testing. The industry as a whole has reached a point where they can no longer support this aging old browser.

As such, google, facebook and a whole host of other big names have dropped support for IE6 in the last couple of years. Even Microsoft has started a campaign to get people onto newer browsers to allow the web to evolve (http://www.ie6countdown.com/). Now it’s Ateliers turn to say goodbye. In order to provide the latest and greatest web technologies, we will no longer be able to support IE6 unless it is a specific requirement for a project.

When it comes to browser support, we will always aim to support at least 2 older versions as well as a browsers latest version. So In the case of Internet explorer, we’ll support the current version (IE9), as well as IE8 and IE7. With Firefox we’ll support the current version (FF6), as well as firefox 5, and firefox 4.

If you are still running IE6, there are a whole host of (much better) options available to you. We recommend the following:

Microsofts latest version, IE9.
Google Chrome.
Mozilla Firefox.

As the nature of online relationships between organisations and individuals evolves, it is no longer sufficient for the medium to be used by companies to simply push information out to their various audiences. Instead, they want their website users to be able to enquire, ask questions, join surveys, etc, all with the goal of capturing valuable data. And one of the easiest ways to capture user data is via a website form.

On previous versions of Atelier’s content management system (CMS), clients would have to contact us and to wait for our studio team to add or modify the forms on their websites. While this process didnt necessarily take a long time, we recognised that it was not an ideal situation and that it would be better if clients could create and modify website forms anytime. The provision of this flexibility was the motivation behind the development of Atelier’s ‘Formbuilder’.

Formbuilder now the features in the new Atelier CMS. It gives the ability for clients to be able to simply create, edit and publish forms on their websites as required and for the data captured from these forms to be stored securely in the client’s database. This data is then available to view by logging in to the CMS.

Atelier Formbuilder has the following sections:

Main Screen

Delete a form (via the red cross)

Edit a form (via the pencil)

Add a form (via the green plus sign)

View form Submissions

Edit form fields

Add Form / Edit Form

View Submissions

Form Submission Details

Preview

Users can re-order the form fields using drag and drop. The fields just need to be dragged to their new position and once finished, the ‘Save ordering’ button needs to be clicked.

Add Form Field

Edit Field

As you can see from the screenshots, using Atelier’s Formbuilder is easy and straightforward and keeps our clients in control of the data harvested from their sites. To see a working example of a form created via formbuilder, please go to: http://planner.atelier-studios.com/

Round 1

Paul vs Matt v2 – Matt wins due to a catastrophic string break from Paul.

Ren vs Fred – Fred had never played but really deserved the win, smashing his own conker to pieces!

Colin vs Dave – Colin – Colin’s got a ‘unique’ action which involves throwing the conker that surprisingly worked!

Andy vs Mark – Mark’s got an awesome swing, demolished Andy

Neil vs Matt – Matt goes out without even a single swing.
