Under the bonnet in this release we see Mozilla enabling the SPDY protocol by default. The SPDY (pronounced SPEEDY) protocol is part of Googles “Let’s make the web faster” initiative and is designed to reduce latency and in turn speed up web browsing. This is an experimental protocol but as more services take advantage you should see an improvement in web browsing speeds.
